Video: RichRod tells Mike Leach Speedo story

Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez recently sat down with Pac-12 Network’s Mike Yam, Curtis Conway, and Yogi Roth while at the Pac-12 Football Media Days on Friday. He was asked to tell a story about a fellow Pac-12 coach and an embarrassing moment that happened while at a coaches retreat.

Pac-12.com shared the video of Rodriguez telling about how Washington State head coach Mike Leach was seen wearing what looked to be a Speedo and a pair of goggles while swimming in a lagoon in Mexico. The best thing about the story is that Rodriguez was with Urban Meyer and legendary coaches Bobby Bowden and the late Joe Paterno at the time. What an impressive group.

Leach, who has adamantly denied the story multiple times, joined the crew of hosts later on in the day on Friday and defended himself about the story.

The fact that he said the lagoon was probably full of sharks was probably the best way to make him seem more like a man in his story. He also took a shot at Rodriguez by saying he didn’t work at all during the vacation. Maybe he will be more careful about his choice of swimwear in the future.

The two teams play each other this season on October 24 as the Wildcats host the Cougars.
