Saturday was a special day for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The NFL Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place and two of their very own were forever enshrined in greatness. Former running back Jerome Bettis and wide receiver Tim Brown were both recognized for their achievements in the professional ranks.
Current Fighting Irish running backs and wide receivers decided to repay the two for the path they laid for future players. College Spun shared the video of the current players giving shout outs to the now-Hall of Famers.
If there were ever two players for these guys to look up to, it would certainly be Bettis and Brown. Bettis rushed for 1,912 yards and ran for twenty-six touchdowns in three seasons at Notre Dame. Brown had equal success, catching passes for 2,493 yards and twelve touchdowns in four seasons while winning the Heisman Trophy in 1987. Both were first round draft picks in the NFL.
Who will be the next great Irish player to be enshrined into the Hall of Fame? That question may not be answered for a while, but it will be interesting to think about in the coming seasons.
