Former WVU QB Pat White pokes fun at Geno Smith

It was reported Tuesday morning that New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith had been sucker punched in the team’s locker room by teammate Ik Enemkpali and suffered a broken jaw. He will miss six-ten weeks due to the injury.

Former West Virginia quarterback great Pat White decided he would poke fun at Smith, who also played for the Mountaineers, while also giving him some encouragement.

College Spun shared a tweet that White sent out to Smith where he referenced rapper Kanye West. West had suffered an injury similar to Smith’s after he fractured his jaw in a car accident.

@GenoSmith7 just know that @kanyewest came back stronger. #thruthewire

Well, that is probably one of the more light-hearted jokes anyone has made about Smith’s injury. At least White didn’t take the opportunity to mock Smith by saying that the team had gotten better due to this.

We at Campus Sports hope that Smith makes a full recovery and is able to get back on the field to compete for a starting job with the Jets this season.
