Notre Dame looking to create ‘Hard Knocks’ type show

The Ohio State Buckeyes will be releasing a Hard Knocks-style show this fall. The show will follow the team through its training camp and give fans an in-depth look at what it takes to be a member of a top-tier college football program.

It looks that another top-tier program from the Midwest is looking to join in on the fun. According to College Spun, Notre Dame has been in talks with Showtime to produce a show of their own and it may just be releasing this fall alongside the defending national champions’ show.

A report says that the show could be finalized within forty-eight hours and would begin filming “immediately.” The report also stated:

While not finalized, sources tell FootballScoop the expected time slot would be Tuesday nights following Showtime’s “Inside the NFL,” which airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. Eastern.

Separate sources tell FootballScoop that Florida State was very close to agreeing with a major cable production company to produce a similar series last season, but that agreement fell through at the last minute. Here’s to hoping that Showtime and Notre Dame get the I’s dotted and the T’s crossed this time.

This show could really be a huge hit, even among non-Fighting Irish fans. I’d expect football fans everywhere will want to tune into this.
