It must be “Celebrate the players that don’t get much recognition week” in Hattiesburg, Mississippi or something. Yesterday, a video of their kicker nailing a field goal with a GoPro attached to the ball made the rounds on social media.
Today, another less-known position player made a video go viral in the Twitter-verse.
Long snappers have one of the most important positions on the football field.
While teams don’t usually aim for having to punt or kick field goals, it’s always nice to know you have a guy that accurately get the ball to the punter or holder without much problem.
The Southern Miss Golden Eagles don’t have to worry about Lance Schuffert too much. Southern Miss quarterback Nicholas Mullens shared a compilation videos of Schuffert hitting some seemingly impossible long snap trick shots, including one from the second level of M. M. Roberts Stadium into a basketball goal in the endzone.
Wow. The next time I hear someone say that long snappers aren’t real athletes, to which I will be highly offended since I was one in high school, I will show them this video.
