Notre Dame unveils ‘Shamrock Series’ uniforms

Boston College unveiled the retro jerseys they will wear to honor Doug Flutie in the game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Thursday morning. The Irish came back by revealing the alternate uniforms the team will wear for their annual “Shamrock Series” game, which takes place at Fenway Park.

It all started with a cryptic tweet from Irish head coach Brian Kelly, who mentioned that his office looked empty and needed something new Wednesday evening. Early Thursday morning, he tweeted a picture of the helmets on a shelf in his office according to College Spun.

My office renovation is complete.

Ryan & UA did a fantastic job on design.

Now back to getting better every day. http://t.co/egaBKAUz98

ESPN’s Darren Rovell, who unveiled the retro Boston College uniforms, also gave fans a first look at this year’s Fighting Irish “Shamrock Series” uniforms.

It looks like the November 21 game is going to be an attractive one with all the alternate uniforms hitting the field. The rivalry between the Irish and the Eagles goes back a pretty good ways, so it being in one of the oldest baseball stadiums in the country is a great way to show the authenticity of this old rivalry.

This game is going to be great.
