Video: Watch this epic Star Wars-themed Texas hype video

Somebody in Austin must really want me to become a Texas Longhorns fan.

If you are a football fan and were born in the 70’s, 80’s, or 90’s, chances are you grew up watching Star Wars or had parents who did and are a fan yourself. I am no different. My parents introduced the wonderful franchise to me and my siblings when I was just a kid, but the original movies still hold up to this day.

With the Disney purchase of Lucasfilm and the announcement of more Star Wars movies releasing, adults are experiencing nostalgia and kids are being brought into the madness. The seventh movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, releases on December 18 this year and it has the fever running rampant.

College Spun shared a video of a fan-made, Star Wars-themed Texas hype video that is absolutely stunning. While there isn’t any lightsabers digitally edited into the video, clips of the Longhorns hitting the field are set to a fantastic John Williams Orchestra soundtrack that just bleeds Star Wars.

Excuse me while I nerd out for a second. THAT WAS THE GREATEST THING I HAVE EVER WATCHED. If you know me, I am a huge football fan. I’m also an avid fan of George Lucas’s franchise.

While everyone prefers the OTHER franchise about space travel that I will not speak the name of, you have to appreciate the hard work Texas fan Andy way put into making this amazing video. Thank you, Andy.

The Longhorns open the season on September 5 when they travel to South Bend to play the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
