Temple C Kyle Friend is a physical freak

When you hear somebody get called a “freak”, you usually think there may be something wrong with that person, whether it mentally or physically. In the case of Temple center Kyle Friend, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

In a top 25 list by Fox Sports, Bruce Feldman has been ranking the Top 25 “freaks” in college football. This list has been a part of “Freak Week” and it has been an extensive, day-by-day list. On Thursday, numbers 20-16 were released and Friend cracked the list at the top spot for Thursday.

The list says that the senior center, who is six-foot-two, 305 pounds, bench pressed 225 pounds forty-six times this offseason. Not only is crazy strong, he is also ridiculously fast for a big guy as he ran a 4.95 in the forty yard dash.

Friend has started thirty-three consecutive games for the Owls and he is slowly working his way up to becoming a top offensive line prospect in the 2016 NFL Draft. With numbers like that, who would question a team taking him pretty early on in the draft next year?

Fans will be able to see Friend in action when they hope the season at home against Penn State on September 5.
