No matter if you love the guy or loathe him, Donald Trump surely has a lot of momentum in the race to win the GOP candidacy in the 2016 Presidential Election. It may not even be a factor of him actually making good points throughout his campaign, but he is a pop culture icon and a lot of people are going to vote for him simply because of his name.
Right now, Trump has a large lead in the state of North Carolina. He currently holds twenty-four percent of the state’s votes, over Ben Carson at fourteen percent and Jeb Bush at thirteen.
According to USA TODAY’s For the Win, a new candidate has entered the presidential race and he has actually began to catch up to The Don. It was reported that Deez Nuts has gained nine percent of the votes in North Carolina. If that isn’t enough, he has also gained notoriety in Minnesota with eight percent and Iowa with seven.
Yes, this candidate is based off the internet meme that gained popularity in late 2014. No, this is not a joke.
It is unknown who actually put in a form for candidacy under the pseudonym, but whoever it is actually has an outside shot of winning some of these states. I think there is really only one thing to say about this.
Good going, America.
