The countdown to ‘The Game’ is on in Columbus, Ohio

There is probably more hype surrounding this year’s game between Ohio State and Michigan ever before. It’s not because both teams are slated to compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff and it’s not because the Buckeyes are the defending national champions. When it comes down to it, it’s really because of who are leading the teams this year.

Urban Meyer is one of the most successful coaches in college football in the last twenty years and Jim Harbaugh has proven himself in both the collegiate and professional ranks.

Pair that with sheer hatred between the Wolverines and Buckeyes fan bases and you have a pretty hyped up game to close the regular season.

One Ohio State coach is already counting down the days for “The Game”.

Ohio State running back coach Tony Alford shared a photo on Twitter that shows the Buckeyes have a wall dedicated to “The Game” with pictures and memorabilia surrounding a countdown clock and it shows that there are less than 100 days until the two teams meet.

The rivalry between the two teams has overall been pretty even with Michigan leading the series 58-46-6. However, the Buckeyes have won ten of the last eleven meetings dating back to 2004. In fact, the Wolverines have not won consecutive games since the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

This rivalry game is always a heated one and it easily in the top three for best college football rivalries. This year’s game should be no different.

The Buckeyes travel to Ann Arbor to face off against the Wolverines on November 28.
