2016 four-star DB chooses Duke over Georgia

Fans were surprised to learn that one of the nation’s highest ranked defensive backs in the Class of 2016 committed to a football program that hasn’t had a lot of success in the last few seasons. This school is also known for having a much larger presence in college basketball, rather than football.

According to 247Sports, the Duke Blue Devils landed a commitment from Dylan Singleton on Saturday morning. Singleton is currently the twenty-eighth ranked defensive back in the country and the No. 1 defensive back in the state of Georgia.

Many fans expected Singleton to commit to the Georgia Bulldogs, but he surprised everyone by choosing one of the biggest academic universities in the country.

This is Duke’s fourth commit from the state of Georgia for the 2016 class as they also snagged offensive lineman Robert Kraeling and three-star players running back Brittain Brown and defensive back Antone Williams.

The Blue Devils could be on the rise right now with a pretty large class for next season.

The team, who won the ACC Coastal Division in 2013, has seventeen commits for the class of 2016, which is good enough for them to have the eighteenth ranked class in the country.
