Taylor Swift gets banner at Staples Center before Clippers

To say that the Los Angeles Clippers haven’t had a lot of success in the NBA would be an understatement. Since the team joined the league in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves, they have never won an NBA Championship and just recently won their first ever division championship in 2013 and 2014.

The team moved into the Staples Center in Los Angeles in 1999 and since then they have shared the stadium with cross-town rival, the Los Angeles Lakers. To compare the teams would certainly be unfair. Since that season the Lakers have won five NBA Championships, which means the team has been able to hang up five banners from the rafters of the stadium.

Now, someone else has been able to hang a banner alongside the Lakers in the stadium, but it must be an absolute embarrassment for the Clippers considering who it is. Pop star Taylor Swift is easily one of the most popular singers of this generation and her fans let her know that.

She sells out many venues every year and the Staples Center is one of her more common places to perform. She was awarded a banner for selling out the most performances in Staples Center history.

That has got to be embarrassing for the Clippers. It looks like the team is going to have to try pretty hard to show up Swift in the future and they need to do it fast.
