The college football season isn’t too far off now, but fans can begin going crazy now. The official AP Preseason poll has been released and the top teams really feature no huge surprises.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are unsurprisingly at the top spot in the country as a unanimous number one team in the country. TCU, Alabama, Baylor, and Michigan State round out the top five with Auburn, Oregon, USC< Georgia, and Florida State closing the top ten. You can see the full rankings here.
An interesting stat for the defending national champions is that the Buckeyes are the first ever number one unanimous team in the AP Preseason poll. Fox Sports’s Bruce Feldman shared that stat via Twitter.
The AP has been doing its preseason CFB poll since 1950. #OhioState is the 1st unanimous preseason No. 1 pick.

Of course, there are some other interesting stats to come from the poll as well. Nearly half of the Top 25 comes from the SEC, with two teams that finished 7-6 in 2014, Arkansas and Tennessee, getting into the poll.
The college football season is going to be an exciting one and right now, it is looking like there could be controversy all over the college football world. The season officially kicks off on September 3 when South Carolina takes on North Carolina.
