Video: Georgia Southern K makes crazy backflip FG

For some reason, this summer has been filled with nothing but seemingly obscure players like long snappers and kickers showing off their ridiculous trick shot skills. Whether it is hiking a ball from the second level of a stadium into a trash can or kicking a field goal with a GoPro attached to the ball, it has been a pretty awesome summer for guys who don’t get a lot recognition, but twice the pressure.

Georgia Southern backup kicker Younghoe Koo is no different. Bleacher Report shared a video of Koo showing not only his great soccer skills, but his pure athleticism as well. He spun a football with his feet and then made a field goal from about 25 yards out. It was amazing.

Koo was the team’s starting kicker in 2013 before losing the starting job to Alex Hanks for the 2014 season. Hanks struggled mightily near the end of last season, so there is a good chance that Koo will get the chance to take the field for the Eagles again this season.

I don’t know if this trick shot kick will help coach Willie Fritz make a decision for Koo, but it was surely impressive to watch. I guess Koo will have to wait just like the rest of us fans.

The Eagles open the season on September 5 when they travel to Morgantown to play West Virginia.
