One aspiring country star has turned her love for college football and the Nebraska Cornhuskers into a potential hit song titled, “Cornhusker Strong.”
The singer, Heidi Merrill, wrote the Nebraska anthem which features shots of Memorial Stadium, Nebraska football jerseys and men in uniform, along with — you guessed it! — corn fields.
Well done, Miss Merrill.
The song actually isn’t terrible — which is surprising for these types of anthems — but we will have to wait and see whether the song gains any momentum among the Cornhusker fan base.
At the very least, Heidi Merrill is getting her name out there.
Let’s hope she at least gets a national anthem opportunity at Memorial Stadium out of this effort.
