Offensive coordinator Bill Cubit will serve as the team’s interim coach.
According to Illinois, Beckman was fired following the results from the investigation into Illinois’ program. Because Beckman was fired due to cause, he will not receive his buyout nor $3.1 million left on contract.

During his four seasons with the team, Beckman was just 12-25 with four Big Ten wins.
Judging by his social media account, he did not see the news coming.
