Video: Jamie Foxx tries to go yard at Cubs batting practice

Jamie Foxx is many things; an actor, singer, comedian and an all-around great guy. He also happens to be in love with the long ball. Prior to the Chicago Cubs’ meeting with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night, Foxx stepped up to the plate for some batting practice.

Before Foxx could try to smash the ball over the fence, he received some advice from Cubs manager Joe Maddon.

“Absolutely swing as hard as you can to the point that you may fall down and hurt yourself because it looks better that way,” Maddon told Campus Sports’ Dave Osokow.

After learning that Maddon wanted him to go “Happy Madison-style,” Foxx seemed very confident in his ability to exceed expectations at the plate.

“Hey, man. I’m just trying to tell you what this is,” he joked. “I’m going yard.”

Well, Campus Sports was able to get video of Foxx — who’s fashion was “on point” and “as good as you’re going to find on the field” — taking batting practice. How did he do?

Check that out, along with some photos from his time at Dodgers Stadium, below.
