Golfer John Daly had a pretty big scare Saturday afternoon while at a tournament in Canton, Mississippi. He was participating in Deerfield Golf Club tournament when he collapsed and had to be rushed to the hospital.
According to Complex, Daly was diagnosed with a collapsed lung after a series of tests were ran on him. His friend Billy Allen said that his vital signs looked fine, but he was worried about him injuring his ribs and fingers after the rough fall.
Deerfield Golf Club pro Legih Brannnan said that Daly had been battling the 90-degree weather they were experiencing. She said that dehydration was a possibility for his collapse.
“He was struggling pretty badly right before he collapsed,” Brannan said. “But we’re all hoping it’s nothing serious and that he was just a little dehydrated. He was even telling [Allen] he still wants to play [Sunday].”
I don’t think playing golf one day after suffering a collapsed lung is the best way to do things. Maybe, especially with his history of alcohol and cigarettes, Daly should rest for at least this Sunday.
