Oregon’s infamous ‘RoboDuck’ retires, doing birthday parties

In 2011, the Oregon Ducks attempted to debut a new mascot to go along with Puddles on the sideline. Not very people remember the secondary mascot because he was gone within the week.

RoboDuck was one of the newer age and hip parts of the Ducks’ program that didn’t go over well with the fans. According to Pacific Takes, RoboDuck has officially retired, as if that was really needed. He hasn’t made an appearance since he hatched from an egg in 2011.

RoboDuck announced his official retirement from his career of mascotting via Twitter.

Parents, if your kids absolutely loved the Mighty Ducks knockoff mascot, have no fear! You can actually book him for your kids’ birthday parties now! Why you would want to, I will never know.

Let’s hope the Ducks just stick with their traditional mascot in the future. Maybe RoboDuck will make a Throwback Thursday appearance one night.
