Michigan State falls to Georgian National Team, finishes 1-3

The Michigan State Spartans didn’t have too great of a trip over to Italy this weekend. The team finished their trip with a one-point loss to the Georgian National Team, which was their third straight in a four game trip.

College Basketball Talk shared a highlight video from team’s match-up with the Georgians. The Spartans were down by 14 before charging all the way back to make the score 71-70. A long three pointer by Bryn Forbes clanged off the back of the rim, handing the Spartans their third loss.

Gavin Schilling had a good showing for his team as he scored 17 points and recorded 9 rebounds. Forbes also added on 14 points for his team. The Spartans also played the Russian and Italian National Teams in their other two losses with the one win coming against Florentina.

The three latter teams will all be competing in next month’s EuroBasket, so this surely gave the Spartans a lot of experience for the upcoming season. The team is going to need it if they want to get back to the Final Four this year.
