UCLA releases statement on Ishmael Adams arrest

It was reported early Monday evening that UCLA defensive back Ishmael Adams had been arrested for suspicion of robbery on the campus. The school released a statement regarding the arrest and whether or not they will be able to move forward with him.

Following the news, the school issued a brief statement providing as little information as you could possibly imagine. Rightfully so, the Bruins stated that they would not be able to give anymore comments while charges were still pending.

Adams was a key member of the Bruins’ defense during his first few seasons with the team. He has recorded 103 tackles and six interceptions, while returning a school-record two for touchdowns in 2014.

He was also a big part of the return game as he scored a touchdown on a kickoff during the Arizona State game last year. While nothing has been confirmed, Adams’s future with the Bruins certainly doesn’t look good.

Stay with Campus Sports for more information on the arrest and his status with the team.

The Bruins open the season on September 5 when they host Virginia.
