Ludacris to play at Providence for Midnight Madness

Every college basketball season, there is a night-long event where teams hit the court at different times throughout the night and play a game. Usually, to entice students to attend the game in the middle of the night, there is a some kind of performance or concert.

This year, according to CBS Sports, Providence is going all out and have landed popular movie star and rap icon Ludacris to perform for their Midnight Madness event.

The site shared the release video that hyped up Ludacris’s performance at the school.

While the video says to “reserve your seat”, the concert itself is free.

However, there is a bit of a catch.

“The event is FREE, but in order for a student to be guaranteed admission to the event he/she must purchase a 2015-16 Providence College men’s basketball student season ticket package,” per the school’s release.

Smart thinking by the Friars on their part. I would expect their season ticket sales to increase over the next few few weeks.

The event takes place on October 17.
