Minnesota official leaves facing sexual harassment claims

The Minnesota athletics programs has been taking pretty big hits in the administrative department. Earlier this summer, Athletic Director Norwood Teague resigned from his position following claims of sexual harassment.

On Thursday, it was announced that another administrative official has left following more claims brought against him.

According to the Star Tribune, Associate Athletic Director Mike Ellis, who was handpicked by Teague to be his assistant, has left the school following five different complaints being made against him.

These complaints also involve sexual harassment and pornographic images on his cell phone.

From the report:

The complaint says that when a senior member of the U’s athletics department and a member of the Gopher Radio Network Team “made it known they were offended by the graphic images, that person was immediately shunned by the new senior administrators,” including Teague and Ellis. “A few days after returning from the bowl trip, this athletic administrator was shockingly fired for ‘reorganization purposes’ a move that very much troubled the rest of the athletic staff,” the August complaint says.

This situation is far from over and it seems like there could be even more repercussions to come from the university itself. Stay with Campus Sports for the latest information on this issue.
