College football fans celebrate 9/4 as ‘Bo Pelini Day’

For years, former Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini was criticized for having mediocre records every year. Today is September 4, which numerically is 9/4. Fans everywhere are celebrating today as “Bo Pelini Day.”

Fans all over Twitter are sending out messages celebrating their new make believe holiday.

The reasoning behind the coach getting a day named after him? For the seven seasons he was at Nebraska, his teams amassed a record of 9-4 three different years.

Apparently September 4 (9-4) is Bo Pelini day, which I find hilarious

Pelini won at least nine games in all seven seasons at Nebraska and he won four division championships (3 in the Big 12, 1 in the Big Ten) while having three 10-win seasons and making seven straight bowl games. Many people would say that those records aren’t all that good, especially coming out of Power 5 conferences, but it shows his consistency.

Pelini has the chance to turn things around and prove himself as a great coach after he became the head coach with Youngstown State.
