Former New Mexico G signs with Australian Football League

The Australian Football League has been doing all it can to put itself into relevancy over the last few years. To do that, they have been trying to grab some of the best talents that they can. They have been looking towards the NCAA to get American basketball players to come play for them.

Earlier this season, former Morehead State forward Jason Holmes played as a ruckman for the St. Kilda Football Club.

According to College Football Talk, former New Mexico guard Hugh Greenwood signed a contract with the AFL’s Adelaide Thursday night.

Greenwood formerly played Australian football as a teenager before signing to play with the Lobos. He spent time in the NBA Summer League with the Utah Jazz.

Greenwood was apparently pretty good playing football in his younger years. He actually earned a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sport in both basketball and football before deciding to come to States.
