Peyton Manning gave Marquise Williams advice after loss

North Carolina quarterback Marquise Williams had a rather disappointing showing in the team’s opening game against South Carolina last Thursday. While threw for an impressive 19 of 31 and 232 yards, his three interceptions – all of which came in Gamecocks territory and two in the endzone – proved costly for the Tar Heels.

Williams, who is still expected to be one of the top quarterbacks in the ACC, was experiencing all kinds of flack from across the nation. Afterwards, Williams spoke with a rather legendary quarterback about his poor performance.

I say legendary, because I doubt that anyone disagrees with me about former Tennessee Volunteers and Indianapolis Colts and current Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning being a legend.

The senior quarterback has been solid for the Tar Heels the last three seasons or so. He now has an opportunity to bounce back against North Carolina A&T before his team heads to Atlanta for the ACC opener against 2014 ACC Atlantic Division champion Georgia Tech.
