In the Big Ten, the most fierce rivalry is easily the Ohio State and Michigan one. All too often, fans overlook a big in-state rivalry between two bitter conference opponents. I don’t think that will be happening anymore not for the 2015 season, at least.
The Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans don’t play each other until mid-October, but the Wolverines seemed to want to get a headstart on the rivalry. College Spun shared a photo of Michigan State’s spartan statue with a maize and blue M painted on the torso with what looks to be the insignia of an Alpha Omega fraternity in Ann Arbor beneath it.

There’s no guarantee that anyone from Michigan did this, but they will certainly be questioning the accused fraternity about this incident. If they didn’t do it, then I can say that somebody REALLY hates the Alpha Omegas at Michigan.
The game between the Wolverines and Spartans takes place in Ann Arbor on October 17, but it looks like both schools will need to ramp up security over landmarks on campus now.
