SMU to wear special helmets remembering 9/11

It’s been fourteen years since the World Trade Center in New York City was attacked. The terrorist attacks still ring very loudly in the hearts of many Americans today and we are always trying to find ways to honor the victims of that fateful day.

The SMU Mustangs football team will be doing just that on Saturday when they welcome in North Texas for their second game of the season.

According to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, the team will be wearing blue helmets with the mustang decal emblazoned with the flag of the United States of America inside.

What a great way way to honor the victims of September 11, 2001. Those helmets are actually pretty cool as well. The Mustangs are the first team to do something like this, but it is always appreciated.

I’m sure the families of those victims will be happy to know that the Mustangs care so much to go out of their way to do this.

Never forget.
