‘Big push’ for Mack Brown as next Texas AD coming?

With the report of Texas athletic director Steve Patterson’s firing coming out on Tuesday morning, fans and others around the campus have began thinking of replacements for him. One name that has already been thrown around is one that not too many fans would be surprised with.

There have been reports that there will be a push for legendary Texas head coach Mack Brown to become the next AD of the Longhorns’ programs. Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman first reported that the school is looking bring the former national championship winning coach back to assume the administrative position.

Source tells @FoxSports "Not sure it'll go thru, but there will be a big push for Mack (Brown) to become the next AD at #Texas."

Brown has spent the last year and a half as a “special assistant” to the Longhorns’ football team as well as a college football analyst for ESPN and ABC. I’m sure fans wouldn’t mind having Brown back at the helm of things in Austin.
