Notre Dame CB KeiVarae Russell: ‘This team is special’

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are easily one of the hottest teams in college football right now. Despite having to comeback to beat the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday, the team is still boasts one of the more powerful offenses in the country.

One Notre Dame player knows that his team is very talented and he feels like they can do something big.

Notre Dame senior cornerback KeiVarae Russell posted a picture of his team walking out to the field on Saturday to Instagram and said that he feels really good about his team’s chances this year.

If anybody should know about a team being special, it should be Russell. As a true freshman, he was a starter on the 2012 Irish team that went to the BCS National Championship game.

Despite the team now being down some big offensive weapons, the Irish is still very strong on both sides of the ball. If there has ever been a year for a team from outside the power conferences to win a national championship, it would be now and that team would be Notre Dame.

The Irish host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Saturday, September 19.
