Dick Vitale has been a long supporter of Notre Dame and he showed that on Thursday. He made a large donation to the school to help with providing financial aid to students in need.
Vitale made a $1 million donation to the school to help give aid to deserving students. The craziest thing is that Vitale never went to Notre Dame. However, his daughters did both attend Notre Dame and he has gained a massive amount of respect for the school while he was so closely involved with them.
Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly and basketball coach Mike Brey both took to Twitter to thank Vitale for his generosity.
Just heard about amazing & generous $1,000,000 gift Dick donated to ND's financial aid.
Great friend. Huge heart. pic.twitter.com/mSGq8GmTNE

Dick didn't even go here, but is giving $1,000,000 to ND for scholarships.
This place truly attracts great people. pic.twitter.com/xfA6LZ0Ra0

What a nice thing for Vitale to do. I’m glad he has decided to give back to the place that has given so much to his family.
