Video: CBS crew does a grass taste test in honor of Les Miles

LSU head coach Les Miles is known for being one of the more eccentric coaches in all of college football. He has garnered the nickname “Mad Hatter” for his somewhat unorthodox play-calling style and the fact that he loves hats.

Another well-known and very odd fact about Miles is the fact that he loves to eat some of the grass at Tiger Stadium before every game. The SEC on CBS crew decided they would pay a little homage to him before the Tigers’ game against Auburn on Saturday.

Adam Zucker seemed to be the ringleader in their taste test as Brian Jones and Rick Neuheisel were the guinea pigs. Jones wasn’t afraid to jump right in and taste the grass. At least the guys were given a selection of pretty upscale grass in Bermuda, Zoysia, Kentucky Bluegrass, and Centipede.

I love how Jones instantly became a judge on “Chopped” and said that the Bermuda was dry, but the Bluegrass had a “little more moisture.” If this isn’t one of the most “football offseason” things I have ever seen, I don’t know what is.
