The Arizona Wildcats have been missing a very important piece to their defense for the last few weeks as Scooby Wright tore his meniscus in the opening game of the season. There had been speculation for the last few weeks on if Wright would be able to return for the team’s game against the UCLA Bruins.
The speculation is now no more after head coach Rich Rodriguez confirmed that Wright would be playing in the game. According to College Football Talk, on ESPN College Gameday, which is in Tucson today, Rich Rod appeared in an on-set interview where he said that the linebacker would be playing in the game after practicing all week.
Rodriguez gave no indication on what role Wright would be playing for the Wildcats tonight, but it’s huge that he will be back on the field. This comes after it was announced UCLA’s star linebacker Myles Jack would be missing the rest of the season with a knee injury.
This game is surely going to be an electric one and will go a long way in determining the PAC-12 South Division champion. The game kicks off at 8:00 p.m. and can be seen on ABC.
