In last week’s loss to the Memphis Tigers, the Cincinnati Bearcats took a big blow when they lost starting quarterback Gunner Kiel. He took a shot as he was sliding to the ground and his head bounced off the turf.
He had to be stretchered off the field and did not return to the game. Redshirt freshman Hayden Moore came into the game and performed very well, but the team still lost 53-46.
Moore is going to have to perform even better than his 500-yard, four touchdown showing if they want to win this week. The Bearcats take on the Miami Hurricanes in Cincinnati and they will be without Kiel, according to College Football Talk.

Head coach Tommy Tuberville said that the Bearcats’ offense has been built to work with Moore for this week. He also feels like the injury won’t cause Kiel to lose his starting job.
“Everything this week is built around Hayden now,” Tuberville said. “It would be a different offense if it was Gunner. Gunner will not lose his position because of injury. Gunner is the best quarterback we have right now. When he comes back, he’ll be the quarterback.”
The game begins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and can be seen on ESPN.
