NC State RB Shadrach Thornton arrested

On Tuesday night, North Carolina State Wolfpack running back Shadrach Thornton once again found himself in hot water.

According to Scout.com’s Rob McLamb, the 22-year-old rusher was arrested and charged with failure to stop and provide aid, as well as failure to provide information. The charges stem from an accident involving his moped which allegedly collided with a pedestrian near the school’s campus.

After being taken into custody, Thornton was released on $500 bail.

Thornton’s career with the Wolfpack has been a wild ride.

Despite leading the team in rushing for his first three seasons, he has found himself suspended from the program on three occassions and arrested twice. It will certainly raise red flags for the prospect, despite his talent and ability to produce when he is on the field.

Thornton was suspended for the first two games of this season, before rushing for 203 yards and three touchdowns in the previous two games.

North Carolina State returns to the field this weekend against Louisville. Whether their star running back will be on the field with the starting offense remains to be seen.
