Shadrach Thornton dismissed by North Carolina State

There is some bad news for North Carolina State Wolfpack senior running back Shadrach Thornton. After his latest arrest on Tuesday night — which resulted in charges of failure to stop and provide aid, as well as failure to provide information — head coach Dave Doeren has announced that Thornton has been dismissed.

The announcement came late Wednesday afternoon.

Thornton’s arrest was a result of an accident in which his moped allegedly collided with a pedestrian near the school’s campus.

During his time at North Carolina State, Thornton has had a wild ride.

While he has been wildly successful on the field for the Wolfpack — he was the school’s leading rusher for the past three years — he was also suspended three times and arrested twice.

Those red flags will raise plenty of questions for NFL teams as they evaluate Thornton as a prospect.

On the field, he has the talent to succeed as a very hard runner at the next level. However, his firestorm of poor decisions could have teams looking for another option.
