The Ohio State Buckeyes didn’t get the chance to defend their national championship this season, but they still had a terrific year, going 12-1 and winning the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday over Notre Dame. One of the big reasons why they have been so successful the last two seasons was because of their defense playing so well, especially linebacker Darron Lee.
Lee, a redshirt sophomore, knew he was eligible for the 2016 NFL Draft and he has been touted as one of the top players at that position for the NFL. He decided to take advantage of it and on Saturday afternoon, he announced his intentions to enter the Draft next April.
Lee has had a terrific couple of seasons in Columbus for the Buckeyes. Over the last two years, Lee has recorded 146 tackles, 27 for loss, 11 sacks, three interceptions with one touchdown, and three forced fumbles.
He will certainly be missed for the Buckeyes, but Lee undeniably has a huge career ahead of him in the NFL.
