The Purdue Boilermakers have been one of the more dismal teams in the Big Ten for the last few years now and the 2015 season was no different. This year, they struggled to find a good leader at the quarterbacks position and that has led to them losing their original starter to transfer.
Austin Appleby opened the season as the starter for the Boilermakers, but he struggled through the early part of the year. He was eventually replaced by David Blough and it has led to him announcing his intentions to transfer.
Appleby will be transferring into one of the toughest conferences as he announced on Twitter he will be taking his talents to Gainesville for the Florida Gators.

Appleby will be competing with Treon Harris and four-star quarterback Feleipe Franks for the starting job in 2016. This should be a good thing for the Gators as they know any of the three guys could do a good job in leading their team this year.
During his two years as the starter, Appleby racked up 2,709 yards, 18 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. That is certainly something he can improve on, but at least he will have the chance to with a much better group of receivers around him.
