Earlier this week, former New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin announced that he would be stepping down as head coach after an 8-8 season and missing the playoffs for the fourth year in a row. It looks like Coughlin won’t be without a job for long and it could be with a team he is very familiar with.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Coughlin is expected to interview with NFC East rival, Philadelphia Eagles, who fired head coach Chip Kelly just two weeks ago, on Monday. The Eagles had to get permission from the Giants to interview Coughlin and it doesn’t look like they will keep them away from talking to him.

Coughlin served as the Eagles’ wide receivers coach for the 1984 and 1985 seasons, which was also his first job in the NFL. It wouldn’t come as a huge surprise if he does get hired on with them to lead the team.
Through 20 seasons in the NFL, eight with the Jacksonville Jaguars and 12 with the Giants, Coughlin has racked up a 170-150 record with five division championships, nine playoff appearances, and two Super Bowl Championships.
