EA Sports NCAA Football teases something on Facebook page

Football fans everywhere haven’t had the opportunity to play a new NCAA Football video game since 2013, when the final installment in the franchise, NCAA Football 14, was released. That is because of a long-standing legal battle between Ed O’Bannon, who fought for college athletes to be compensated, and the NCAA.

That case has been closed since early 2015 and O’Bannon won, meaning the NCAA would have to pay athletes a certain amount of money during their college careers. It looks like now that football fans may be getting the chance to play quite possibly the most popular sports franchise in the history of video games.

The EA Sports NCAA Football Facebook page posted a short clip of a heartbeat monitor. The page hadn’t been active for nearly a year and a half and this, of course, caused fans on the page, nearly 2 million, to go nuts.

Could this mean NCAA Football video games are making a return? Or do the people over at EA Sports have a sick sense of humor?

I, for one, hope it’s the former as I would love to take UTSA and make them a national powerhouse out of the Big 12 once again.
