It’s not very often that a kicker or punter gets selected in the NFL Draft. The last time that did happen was when the Jacksonville Jaguars inexplicably selected Bryan Anger in the third round of the 2012 Draft, despite him turning into one of the better punters in the NFL today.
Because kickers and punters don’t get drafted very often, they usually don’t forgo their remaining eligibility to enter the league. Florida State’s Roberto Aguayo did that, but he has been one of the best kickers in the country the last few years.
For Delaware’s Eric Enderson, that isn’t really the case. The punter has been consistent enough, but it still isn’t worthy of leaving school to try and get drafted in the NFL, which is exactly what he is doing.

In 2015, Enderson averaged 41.1 yards per punt, less than his 44.9 yard average in 2014. He did drop 24 punts inside the 20, however, which is what a lot of teams look for today anyway.
I guess if the guy got his college degree, then what does it hurt to try and pursue your NFL dream? Worth a shot, isn’t it?
