High school basketball games can be very exciting. The crowds get to come inside from out of the cold and are warmed up by the action going on inside the gym.
For West Valley High School in Fairbanks, Alaska, they just experienced just how exciting it can be with their win over Colony High School on Thursday. Their last-second win was because of senior guard Daniel Hornbuckle, who made a pair of unbelievable plays to send his team to a victory.
West Valley was trailing 63-60 with just seconds on the clock. Hornbuckle hit a three-pointer to tie the score and possibly send the game to overtime, until he stole the ensuing inbounds pass and hit a buzzer-beater to win the game and send the home crowd away in shock.

Why Hornbuckle isn’t getting more recognition nationally is a shock as he has led his team to two straight state championships and it looks like they could be on their way to a third.
