Notre Dame begins annual ‘Pot of Gold’ recruiting campaign

The weekend before National Signing Day is a big one for college football teams looking to add on a few more recruits to their classes for the upcoming season. The last few years, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish has began a pretty cool recruiting campaign for the weekend aptly named “Pot of Gold.”

Each year has a them and this year’s had a scratch-off lottery ticket theme, which is appropriate since the country’s largest lottery was just won two weeks ago. The Fighting Irish officially kicked off their campaign on Saturday.

Apparently, the recruiting campaign isn’t just for potential players, but for ones that have already signed. Early-enrollee Daelin Hayes received his on Saturday as well.

This is a pretty cool way of trying to pull recruits just days before essentially the final deadline. Right now, the Irish have the ninth-ranked class for 2016 according to 247Sports and this could be something that helps them out tremendously.
