VT cross country runner charged with abduction, murder of 13-year-old girl

A sad story coming out of Blacksburg, Virginia involves a Virginia Tech athlete and a young girl whose life was taken too soon. Cross country runner David Eisenhauer has been charged with the murder of 13-year-old Nicole Madison Lovell on Saturday.

The Roanoke Times reported the news on Saturday after Lovell’s body was found after she went missing from her home on January 27. Eisenhauer has also been charged with abduction in connection to the investigation.

“I don’t want to comment specifically on what evidence there may be,” Montgomery County Commonwealth’s Attorney Mary Pettitt said. “We’re gathering a lot of it and the medical examiner’s report will be a very important part of that.”

The police reported that this has been a very quick investigation and that it wouldn’t take long before a conviction on Eisenhauer’s part is reached.

“This has been an extremely fast-paced investigation in just the past 12 hours,” Blacksburg Police Chief Anthony Wilson said.

This is a sad story and you can only hope that this girl’s family is able to reach some sort of justice in this horrific case.
