Video: Kobe Bryant reaches out to Colorado State’s Emmanuel Omogbo

Two weeks ago, Colorado State forward Emmanuel Omogbo received some devastating news when he learned that his parents and twin niece and nephew were killed in a house fire in his home state of Maryland.

Since then, people from across the country have reached out to him and a GoFundMe page was started to help him out, which has raised nearly $100,000 for Omogbo’s family.

He even received a standing ovation from the home crowd when he checked into the Rams’ game against San Jose State over the weekend. On Sunday, Omogbo received one of the coolest messages of inspiration when future NBA Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant reached out to him.

This was certainly one of the coolest things he could have done for the young man. Omogbo is going to be playing the rest of the season with his family in his heart and you can only root for him to do well.
