Losing a parent is never an easy thing to go through. It’s especially not easy when you lose the parent while you are still pretty young and one high school hockey player experienced that on Wednesday.
Notre Dame-West Haven hockey player Doug Caliendo lost his father early Wednesday morning, but he didn’t let that stop him from helping his team out. He still took the ice later that night and he ended up scoring the game-winning goal against Northwest Catholic.
He even remembered why he was playing the game and pointed up to the sky as if he signaling to his father.
