Arizona Wildcats senior forward Ryan Anderson has been named the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week, according to the USBWA.
Last week, as Arizona took on both Washington and Washington State on the road, Anderson was lights-out unstoppable. He averaged 26.5 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 56 percent from the field. Thanks to his efforts, Arizona beat Washington State 79-64 and Washington 77-72. This was just the third time out of 28 attempts this season that a Pac-12 team swept a road series.
Anderson also far outperformed his numbers this season. The transfer from Boston College is averaging just 16.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game this year and has been a beast in the paint for Arizona, providing big man Kaleb Tarczewski with plenty of help.
That said, be sure to keep an eye on Anderson as he looks to continue helping No. 17 Arizona rise up in the rankings week after week leading up to the NCAA Tournament.
