We don’t know for sure if Peyton Manning’s playing career in the NFL is over, but we know for sure that his involvement with the sport certainly isn’t. Whether he becomes a coach, a television broadcaster or a front office worker, Manning is going to continue his life in the game of football in some form.
It looks like him being in the front office is becoming more of a reality than just a possibility. Former Indianapolis Colts general manager Bill Polian talked about Manning and his future and he believe he could step into any role in the front office as soon as he wanted to.
“I believe he could very quickly fill the role that John Elway fills with the Broncos,” Polian told SiriusXM NFL Radio, per coachingsearch.com. “The reason I say that is, during our 14 years together in Indianapolis, he would often discuss with me prospects coming out in the draft, SEC players he’d seen, players he’d seen in other parts of the country. He pays close attention to the rosters of the other players in the league, with specific attention to the AFC.”
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Manning enter into the executive life. He has played in Denver for the last four seasons with former quarterback John Elway as president.
He could have gotten advice from him on what he should do with his future career. And if there is anyone who knows anything about being a good general manager, it’s Polian, the Hall of Fame executive.
