Last year, ESPN cut ties with Bill Simmons in a very public break-up. Things didn’t seem to go very well between the two and it ended up in a pretty messy end to their relationship.
His departure left ESPN’s longform section of their website, Grantland, which Simmons created, in the hands of the wrong people. The site has since been shut down and Simmons has started his own website.
He announced the name of his new site Wednesday morning. At same time of him making that announcement, he also answered a question about what he learned from working with ESPN and took a shot at them.
My next website is called The Ringer – launches later in 2016. Check out our logo & sign up for our newsletter at https://t.co/EgdH3mnlbC.

Don't do it with ESPN. RT @ParrishWalton: What are the lessons @BillSimmons learned from running Grantland from a business perspective?

Simmons has always been one to speak his mind and is one of the funniest journalists around. He has appeared in several ESPN and TNT basketball commercials and played a funny character in all of them.
He likely is never going to work for ESPN ever again.
