Video: HS mascot dance-off turns into fight

When you are a high school mascot, you need to have a lot of energy and school spirit. If you aren’t willing to go out and make a fool of yourself, then you might as well not sign up for the job.

At a recent Iowa high school basketball game between Madison and Highland, the two rival school mascots were having a friendly dance-off. Madison’s mascot was getting the best of the dance-off, but Highland’s mascot didn’t want go down without a fight.

He started dancing behind the former’s mascot, which caused a bit of a friendly scuffle. However, a few Madison students took the scuffle seriously and left the stands, nearly causing an all-out brawl in the middle of the court.

Thankfully, there were enough police officers present at the game that things didn’t get more serious than they already were. Maybe next time they won’t allow both mascots to be on the court at the same time.
